Exceeding the Industry Minimum in Background Checks
Screening Process
We take the safety and security of our families very seriously, which is why we require all nannies who register with Kindred Families to pass a thorough background check to qualify for placement. Temporary nannies are subject to annual screening.
The following background checks will be run on every prospective nanny upon acceptance of a job offer:
- County Criminal Court Search – 7 Years – Up to 3 Counties
- Nationwide Criminal Databases Search
- Domestic Watch List Search
- Sex Offender Registry Search
- Social Security Number Trace
- Motor Vehicle Records Search
- Education Verification
The state of California has its own background screening requirements for childcare workers through TrustLine. All nannies must become registered with TrustLine upon securing employment. TrustLine screening includes:
- Fingerprint records from the California Department of Justice Criminal History System
- Fingerprint records of the FBI Criminal History System
- Child Abuse Central Index of California
- County Criminal Search
- Cross-check with Community Care Licensing
